The Octopus™ combines proven vortex fluidizing technology with an innovative manifold design and abrasion resistant thermoplastic materials. The result is a cost-effective system for online solids removal from fluid process tanks and vessels.
Vortex fluidizing creates a low-pressure swirling flow that pulls surrounding solids into a vortex and lifts them into a discharge tube. There’s no disturbance to the separation process, no solids carryover, no vessel wall erosion and it can work even when completely buried. Vortex fluidizing requires less water flow, pressure, and pump horsepower than traditional sand jets.
Standard Octopus materials are suitable for working temperatures up to 180°F (82°C), and greater than 250°F with stainless teel.
